Fans are already feeling a whirlwind of emotions about the upcoming Season 6 of Virgin River, even though it hasn’t been released yet, particularly concerning two of their beloved characters Doc (Tim Matheson) & Hope (Annette O’Toole).
The popular Netflix series returns with exciting new episodes on December 19, and fans will have the chance to witness the cherished residents of Virgin River as they gear up for the wedding of Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson).
The spotlight may be on this couple, but fans are equally captivated by another beloved pair — Vernon “Doc” Mullins, played by Tim Matheson, and Hope McCrea, portrayed by Annette O’Toole!
In a nostalgic video shared on Instagram, viewers are treated to a scene from Season 2 Episode 9, where Hope descends the staircase of their home, greeted by a stunning display of candles.
Puzzled by the unexpected setup, Doc explains that he’s attempting to create a memorable romantic moment to reignite their love. As he guides Hope to the couch, he delivers a heartfelt speech that culminates in a surprise marriage proposal.
Doc : “You know, I heard somewhere that people don’t truly process something until they’ve heard it six or seven times. So, with that in mind, I am prepared to tell you over and over and over again that I’ve loved you from the first day that I met you. And I will be yours until the day I die, Hope McCrea. Will you be my wife … again?”
The audience was deeply moved as they experienced the touching interaction between Doc and Hope once more, unable to hold back their feelings.
One viewer expressed their emotions, saying, “Doc truly moved me to tears; it was stunning.”
Another chimed in, “This is exactly why I will always cherish the story of Hope and Doc, aside from Mel and Jack’s, of course.”
A different fan shared their excitement, commenting, “Awwwww, this is just so incredibly romantic!
Fans are well aware that Doc and Hope’s journey on Virgin River has been filled with numerous challenges and triumphs. In fact, this particular scene unfolds during a season when Hope harbored suspicions about Doc’s fidelity, believing he might be involved with her friend Muriel St. Claire (Teryl Rothery).
Fortunately, the couple has navigated through many trials, and by the time Season 6 premieres, they will emerge more resilient than ever. Is there any chance we could get Virgin River season 6 sooner? We absolutely crave more moments with Hope and Doc!
