1) At the age of 26, Josh Schwartz became one of the youngest individuals in the history of television networks to both create a series and take on the role of showrunner.

2) Unlike Seth Cohen, Adam Brody has a strong dislike for sailing. Following the filming of his sailing scene in this episode, Adam requested to avoid any further scenes that would require him to sail.

3) This episode was filmed on location, setting it apart from all other episodes that were recorded on set.

4) Peter Gallagher was the first actor to be cast.

5) Josh Schwartz received a nomination from the Writers Guild of America for Best Screenplay in an Episodic Drama for this episode.
