Disney has produced numerous successful live-action adaptations, yet the new Snow White film seems to be an exception. Even prior to its 2025 release, the adaptation has been mired in controversy, particularly regarding the portrayal of the seven dwarfs and the mixed reactions to its lead stars, Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.
Coupled with speculation about an excessive budget, the prospects for critical and Box Office success at appear bleak. This is further illustrated by the significant backlash, resulting in a review bombing on IMDb, where the film currently holds a dismal rating of 1.6 out of 10.
Regrettably, the unfavorable reviews have impacted its Box Office results, debuting at $42.2 million in the U.S. While this secured the top position for the weekend, it lagged considerably behind other live-action adaptations of Disney princesses.
For instance, Cinderella in 2015 opened with $67.8 million, and The Little Mermaid in 2023 achieved an impressive $95.5 million. Although Snow White has reached another Box Office milestone despite its sluggish beginning, it might not suffice.
Snow White Has Surpassed The $200 Million Mark !
After six weekends in theaters, Snow White has achieved a significant milestone at the global Box Office, despite facing tough competition from the family-friendly adaptation, A Minecraft Movie, which has consistently remained in the top 5 of the domestic Box Office.
In contrast, Snow White dropped out of the top 5 after just three weekends, landing at the no. 8 position during the weekend of April 11 to 13.
Snow White has achieved a significant Box Office milestone, surpassing $200 million globally. This impressive figure includes $85.7 million from domestic sales and $114.4 million from international markets.
However, it’s important to note that this milestone falls short of covering the production budget, which is estimated to be between $240 and $270 million.
Will Snow White Become HIT Or FLOP ?
Reaching the $200 million milestone is noteworthy, as only four films have achieved this feat in 2025 thus far. However, it still does not meet the production budget.
Given the current trajectory, it appears improbable that it will hit the break-even point, especially with the summer lineup approaching. Snow White will fail to generate ANY profit. It might result in a loss for Disney by the end of its theatrical run.
