Saint Omer is a French legal drama film from 2022, crafted by writer and director Alice Diop, featuring performances by Kayije Kagame and Guslagie Malanda. This marks Diop’s debut in narrative filmmaking, as her previous works have primarily been documentaries. The story draws inspiration from the real-life court case of Fabienne Kabou, who was found guilty in 2016 of drowning her infant. Diop was present during Kabou’s trial. Unfortunately, Saint Omer did not perform well at the Box Office.
