Ruby Gillman – Teenage Kraken is a 2023 animated teen comedy film from the United States, produced by DreamWorks Animation. Directed by Kirk DeMicco and penned by Brian C. Brown, Elliott DiGuiseppi, and Pam Brady. Ruby Gillman – Teenage Kraken garnered mixed reviews from critics and unfortunately underperformed at the Box Office, earning $46 million against a $70 million budget, making it the second-lowest-grossing film for DreamWorks Animation, following Spirit Untamed in 2021.

The story revolves around a timid Kraken girl named Ruby Gillman (voiced by Condor) who yearns to belong at Oceanside High. When she defies her mother’s (Collette) rule by venturing into the ocean with potential friends, she uncovers her lineage as a direct descendant of fierce krakens who have safeguarded the sea from malevolent mermaids for generations, and learns that she is destined to inherit the throne from her grandmother (Fonda).

Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken premiered globally at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 15, 2023, and was released in the U.S. by Universal Pictures on June 30.
