Retribution is an action thriller film from 2023, directed by Nimród Antal and penned by Chris Salmanpour. This film marks the third remake of the 2015 Spanish movie El desconocido, which tells the gripping story of a man (Neeson) and his two children who find themselves trapped in their car after receiving a menacing threat that it will detonate if he leaves the vehicle. Retribution is a flop at domestic Box Office.
An international collaboration involving France, Germany, Spain, and the United States, Retribution premiered in France on August 23, 2023, through StudioCanal, and made it’s debut in the United States on August 25, distributed by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
