As NCIS – Tony & Ziva reaches the midpoint of this season, it shifts gears from it’s intense main storyline to concentrate on the daughter of Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo). Following the threat to Tali’s (Isla Gie) life in the premiere, the couple decides to send her to a secure location with her babysitter Sophie (Lara Rossi), a former MI6 agent, while they embark on a journey across Europe to clear their names and eliminate the true threat. In the first half of the spin-off, Tali is only seen through FaceTime calls or nostalgic flashbacks, but NCIS – Tony & Ziva Episode 6 offers us a peek behind the scenes.
NCIS – Tony & Ziva Episode 6 Reveals Tali’s Perspective On The Story
Episode 6 begins in 2020, featuring Tony, Ziva, and Tali as they embark on a vacation to a serene house nestled in the woods. However, the atmosphere quickly turns chilling when the couple discovers Tali with a firearm hidden beneath a table.
It turns out this was one of Ziva’s safe houses, and she had failed to remove all weapons prior to their arrival. The scene shifts to nine days before the staged wedding, where Tali’s safety is compromised, prompting her to be sent to the same safe house with Sophie that she used five years earlier.
We witness a montage capturing those nine days, showcasing Tali’s conversations with her parents and her relentless boredom. Over the course of nine days, Tali expresses her frustration over the absence of internet and her devices running out of battery, while Sophie patiently advises her to seek her own sources of entertainment.
One day, Tali discovers an electronic watch that her father had left behind during his last visit and recalls his memorable quote from Lilo & Stitch – “Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind.”
On another day, which happens to be Sophie’s birthday, they also uncover a wasp’s nest in the front yard, but choose to leave it undisturbed. A few days prior to the current timeline, Tali realizes she must alleviate her boredom by charging the watch, yet she prefers not to inform Sophie about it.
She pretends to have her period, prompting Sophie to head to the store for sanitary supplies, which gives Tali ample time to charge the watch. Unbeknownst to her, since the watch is a cellular model linked to Tony’s old number, it sends signals to cell towers, revealing their location.
Consequently, we return to the present timeline, where four strangers enter the house, forcing Tali and Sophie to take refuge in the panic room.
Tali’s Boredom Places Her At Risk In Episode 6 of NCIS – Tony & Ziva
As Tali and Sophie remain secured in the panic room, Tony and Ziva race urgently towards the safe house after getting the voice message from the prison. Inside the tense vehicle, Tony confronts Ziva, claiming she never had any affection for Henry (James D’Arcy), who is now deceased.
Ziva concedes that she felt jealousy over his bond with Tali, who regarded him as an honorary uncle. Suddenly, they encounter a literal roadblock, compelling them to take an alternate route, which sets back their arrival at the safe house.
Meanwhile, Sophie and Tali are desperately trying to find a way to safety before the intruders discover the panic room. Tali manages to squeeze through a vent that opens into the front yard, taking Sophie’s phone to call for help.
However, when she finally gets a signal, the phone’s notifications inadvertently alert two of the intruders. One of them ends up spraining his foot in a rabbit hole, and they eventually leave the area. Despite this, Tali is shaken and decides to return to the panic room.
Unfortunately, a wasp from the front yard gets trapped on her jacket and ultimately stings Sophie, who suffers from a severe allergy to wasps. Realizing that her Epipen is on the coffee table outside, Sophie gathers her courage to assist Tali in escaping before the allergic reaction takes hold.
She tells Tali to exit the panic room and sprint towards the nearest town while she diverts the intruders’ attention using the computer system. Tali successfully sneaks out, but when she confronts the door and sees the Epipen on the table, she remembers her father’s advice about ensuring no one is left behind. In her effort to grab the Epipen and save Sophie’s life, she inadvertently reveals the panic room’s location to the intruders.
This Close-Knit NCIS Family Has Finally Come Together Again In Episode 6
Pierre (Emmanuel Bonami), the mastermind behind the assault, connects the dots and discovers the vent in the backyard that leads directly to the panic room. He unleashes tear gas inside, compelling Sophie and Tali to flee the panic room and face the intruders boldly.
Tali makes a break for it, escaping the house and leaping into their car, where she successfully runs over one of the assailants. Meanwhile, amidst the house’s failing smoke and strobe light system, Sophie engages in an intense shoot-out with the attackers.
After taking down two of them, she rushes outside and finds herself in a grueling struggle with Pierre, ultimately managing to choke him into submission. At that moment, Claudette (Amita Suman) finally reaches the safe house and feels a wave of relief upon seeing her girlfriend, Sophie, alive.
They share a tender kiss, and just then, Tony and Ziva make their entrance, embracing Tali tightly after nine days filled with chaos and peril. Naturally, Tony and Ziva urge that Tali be taken to another safe house, but she stands her ground with a stubbornness clearly inherited from her parents.
We also witness a heartfelt exchange between Tali and Sophie, where Sophie expresses her gratitude to the young girl for saving her life.
The Conclusion of Episode 6 of NCIS – Tony & Ziva Leaves Viewers With Lingering Questions & A Sense of Sorrow
Following this episode that expands the world through Tali’s perspective, it shifts back to the main enigma, where Tony and Ziva receive an update from their trusted hackers, Claudette and Boris (Maximilian Osinkski).
They discover that the drone, which rogue Interpol agents Jonah (Julian Ovenden) and Martine (Nassima Benchicou) had stolen, has been returned to Reigning Fire. They deduce that it is probably a Trojan horse trap; when the company connects the drone for a diagnostic test, it is likely to contain 9.4, which would grant Jonah access to the entire system of Reigning Fire.
They come to the conclusion that Jonah is probably aiming for the company’s dubious owner, Aaron Graves (Sean Pertwee), but the next phase of their mission involves uncovering the reason behind it.
We gain insight into the present situation of Jonah and Martine, where Jonah discovers that Pierre’s attempt to harm Tali was unsuccessful. Yet, Martine remains unaware of this attack, as she had earlier expressed her disapproval of Jonah’s strategy of targeting children.
As deception continues to accumulate in their relationship, we shift our focus back to Tony, who at last finds the opportunity to mourn Henry’s death and sacrifice. He relies on the unwavering support of Tali and Ziva, concluding the episode on an emotionally devastating note.
