Tony & Ziva Reveals The Anticipated NCIS Major Reunion Event That Ultimately Did Not Occur

In one of it’s most intense scenes, the NCIS – Tony & Ziva Episode 8 uncovers the abandoned NCIS reunion that was meant to unite the show’s most beloved characters. As the NCIS franchise’s inaugural streaming series approaches it’s conclusion, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo’s fated couple are on the verge of exonerating themselves in Europe.

What began as what appeared to be a minor misunderstanding has escalated into a perilous crisis that has even put Tali’s life in jeopardy. However, the danger of the situation compels Tony and Ziva to spend time together, giving them the opportunity to reassess their relationship.

It is evident that the two still have feelings for one another, yet their current situations keep them apart, as shown in the often poignant flashbacks.

The non-linear narrative structure in NCIS – Tony & Ziva enhances the story’s intrigue by unveiling crucial aspects of their reunion and subsequent separation. Moreover, the episode “Fire Sale” uncovers insights about the couple that connect to the larger universe, especially the main series.

Tony & Ziva’s Wedding Was Nearly The Ideal NCIS Reunion Event

Following their engagement in the past, Tony and Ziva even went to the extent of planning their wedding before ultimately choosing to go their separate ways. In the flashback of NCIS – Tony & Ziva Episode 8, the couple is depicted discussing the details of their upcoming celebration, with Tony jotting down what might have been their guest list.

Desiring to be surrounded by family and close friends, Tony made a list of nearly everyone he collaborated with at NCIS. He even added McGee’s wife and children — Delilah, Johnny, and Morgan, in that order.

Characters From NCIS That Tony Wished To Invite To His Wedding

Anthony DiNozzo Sr., Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Timothy McGee, Delilah McGee, Johnny McGee II, Morgan McGee, Abby Sciuto, Jimmy Palmer, Leon Vance, Tobias Fornell, Ellie Bishop & Nick Torres.

The wedding might have been the simplest opportunity to organize a genuine NCIS reunion featuring most of the show’s longest-standing characters. To provide some context, the flashback took place in 2020.

This was prior to Bishop’s departure from MCRT and Gibbs’ retirement in NCIS Season 19. Curiously, though, Ducky was not included in the guest list.

The Possibility of A Grand NCIS Reunion After Tony & Ziva

The storyline of NCIS – Tony & Ziva is paving the way for the main characters’ eventual reunion. Let’s hope this time it’s for the long term. However, this implies that when they eventually return to their wedding arrangements, Ziva will have reconsidered her decision regarding inviting her former colleagues from the Navy Yard.

After all, she has been diligently working to improve her ability to handle her panic attacks. Undoubtedly, Tony and Ziva’s extravagant wedding would have been an ideal fit for NCIS’ 1000th episode. The exciting news is that there’s another significant milestone approaching for the flagship series that will fittingly celebrate the occasion — it’s 500th episode.

As we approach the new year, the main series has already aired 487 episodes. While it might be more challenging to assemble everyone on the list, this presents CBS with a unique opportunity to resolve years of buildup between Tony and Ziva, all while delivering it’s most nostalgic content in years.

According to the timeline, this could take place during the current TV cycle and will be featured in the main show rather than in NCIS – Tony & Ziva.
