Most Test Runs In Career

Sachin Tendulkar is the record holder for the highest number of runs in Test cricket, amassing a remarkable total of 15,921 runs (most test runs in career). This legendary Indian batsman had an illustrious career from 1989 to 2013 and is celebrated as one of the best all-time batsman ever.

Prior to the Indian cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka in July 2008, Sachin Tendulkar was just 177 runs away from surpassing Brian Lara’s record of 11,953 Test runs. Unfortunately, he struggled throughout all six innings, accumulating only 95 runs in total.

As a result, India lost the series, and his average of 15.83 marked his lowest in a Test series consisting of at least three matches. Following this, Tendulkar was unable to participate in the ODI series against Sri Lanka due to an injury.

However, during the subsequent tour of Australia to India, he made a comeback, regaining both fitness and form. In the first Test, he scored 13 and 49, and in the first innings of the second Test, he achieved 88 runs, thus breaking Brian Lara’s record for the most Test runs. He also reached the milestone of 12,000 runs when he was at 61.

On the day he set this record, he referred to it as the most significant achievement in his 19-year career. He followed this with a fifty in the third Test and a score of 109 in the fourth, contributing to India’s series victory of 2–0 and the reclaiming of the Border–Gavaskar Trophy.

In his last Test innings against the West Indies, Sachin Tendulkar managed to score 74 runs, falling just 79 runs short of reaching the impressive milestone of 16,000 runs in Test cricket. He concluded his Test Career with a remarkable total of 15,921 runs, a feat that remains a WORLD RECORD.
