Michael is a musical biographical drama film set to release in 2026, directed by Antoine Fuqua and penned by John Logan. The film chronicles the formative years of the iconic American singer Michael Jackson, spanning from his time with the Jackson 5 in the 1960s through to the Bad tour in the late 1980s. Michael earned $12.6 million from previews on Wednesday and Thursday nights, which raised estimates to $85 million at domestic Box Office.
On it’s opening day, Michael generated $39.5 million, surpassing Oppenheimer for the largest opening day for a biographical film and achieving the highest opening day of any film in 2026. It launched with $97.2 million, marking the best debut for both a biographical and a musical film, outpacing Straight Outta Compton ($60.2 million in 2015).

On the 34th Day, Michael collects over $2.2 million and goes past the $325 million at the domestic Box Office. With this it surpasses the domestic lifetime Box Office of Deadpool 2 ($324 million) & Suicide Squad ($325 million) respectively and enters the All-Time Top 100 Net Gross list.
On the 36th Day, Michael manages over $3 million, taking it’s total to $331 million at the domestic Box Office. This surpasses the domestic lifetime Box Office of It ($328 million), Oppenheimer ($330 million) & Batman v Superman – Dawn of Justice ($330 million) respectively.
On the 38th Day, Michael put up over $3.62 million, taking it’s total close to $340 million at the domestic Box Office. This surpasses the domestic lifetime Box Office of Minions ($336 million), Spider-Man 3 ($338 million) & Jurassic World Rebirth ($339 million) respectively.
