Len Cariou Has Finally Spoken Out About The Return To Boston Blue

Boston is set to host another Reagan reunion shortly. As Boston Blue prepares for it’s next weekly case, the upcoming episode promises to be particularly special, featuring another beloved Blue Bloods veteran. The 14-season CBS series stands out from other cop shows on network television, as it centers around a family of law enforcement officers in New York.

Blue Bloods boasted an impressive cast, and although Danny and Sean are the only family members relocating to Beantown, Boston Blue has been diligent in ensuring the family stays connected.

Set to premiere in the 2025-2026 television season, nearly a year after the conclusion of Blue Bloods, this exciting sequel spinoff follows the father-son duo as they adjust to their new life in New England, while also becoming acquainted with the Silvers — the Boston equivalent of the Reagan family.

Up to this point, Erin is the sole member of the New York family to appear in the spinoff. However, this is soon to change with the introduction of Henry Reagan in just a few weeks. Len Cariou recently spoke with People Magazine about his return as the cherished Henry following the conclusion of Blue Bloods in 2024.

The publication connected with the actor at the NYC premiere of his latest show, American Classic, in late February. In a manner reminiscent of his character, the actor conveyed his enthusiasm for reuniting with Donnie Wahlberg and collaborating for the first time with Mika Amonsen, who has taken on the role of Sean after it was recast.

As per Len Cariou, “It was wonderful to see Donnie and to meet the new great-grandchild.”

The midseason trailer for the Boston Blue has been unveiled, showcasing a sneak peek of Cariou’s return as Henry. This beloved patriarch of the Reagan family is expected to make an appearance in Episode 13 of the Blue Bloods spinoff.

While CBS has not yet provided any official details regarding this episode, fans can agree that any moment spent with this cherished character is a delight. His wealth of wisdom and insights, drawn from both his personal life and professional journey, makes him a standout presence.

In addition to his reunion with the father and son duo, it will be intriguing to observe whether Boston Blue is facilitating a meeting between Henry and the Silver family. Similar to the Reagans, their Boston counterparts enjoy coming together for a meal to share their successes and challenges.

Erin’s appearance on Boston Blue showcased her dining with them, and it was no surprise that she swiftly formed a connection with the family. It would be wonderful to witness something similar for Henry too.

Although Henry has no other motivation to travel to Boston besides visiting Danny and Sean, particularly after all that the duo has faced in recent months, it raises the question of whether he has additional engagements in New England.

His visit will likely pave the way for more members of the Reagan family to show up in Boston Blue, as if he can spare the time to personally see his grandson and great-grandson, then other family members should have no reason not to do the same.
