Brian Lara set the WORLD RECORD for the highest individual score in an innings in Test cricket by scoring an incredible 400 not out against England on April 12, 2004. This historic innings occurred at the Antigua Recreation Ground located in St John’s, Antigua.
Lara’s score exceeded the former record of 380, which was established by Matthew Hayden in a match against Zimbabwe in 2003.
Remarkably, this marks the second occasion on which Lara has shattered the record for the highest individual score in Test cricket, having previously scored 375 against the same team at the same location in 1994.
His unbeaten 400 stands as the sole quadruple century in the annals of Test Cricket history.
