George Schenck Dies – George Schenck, the talented writer behind ‘Futureworld’ and ‘Crazy Like a Fox’, dedicated his creative genius to the first 15 seasons of the popular CBS drama NCIS. For four decades, he and Frank Cardea have nurtured a dynamic creative bond. Together, they have not only worked on NCIS, but also brought to life the thrilling 1982-83 CBS series Bring Em Back Alive, featuring Bruce Boxleitner, The captivating 1984-86 CBS show Crazy Like a Fox, with Jack Warden and John Rubinstein; and the compelling 1991-92 ABC drama Pros and Cons, starring James Earl Jones and Richard Crenna.
Having penned almost 50 episodes of NCIS since its debut season in 2003, the duo was promoted to co-showrunners in November 2016, just two months after the unexpected passing of Gary Glasberg. “It’s with heavy hearts that we assume his duties,” they said at the time.

NCIS star and producer Mark Harmon said in a statement. “So sorry to hear the news on George, the professionalism and tenacity of George and Frank changed the face of the show. I’m so appreciative of the team and teamwork they both represented.” George Schenck retired in 2018, and Cardea remained with the series through 2022.
