Children of the Corn is a supernatural slasher film from 2020, crafted by the talented Kurt Wimmer who took on both writing and directing duties. This marks the third time Stephen King’s short story Children of the Corn (1977) has been adapted, acting as both a reboot and the eleventh entry in the Children of the Corn film series. Unfortunately, similar to it’s predecessors, Children of The Corn faced harsh criticism from reviewers and struggled at the Box Office, earning a mere $575,179 against a hefty budget of $10 million.
Notably, it is the first adaptation of King’s work to hit theaters since Children of the Corn II – The Final Sacrifice (1993). The film made it’s debut in Sarasota, Florida on October 23, 2020, and began its theatrical run on March 3, 2023, with an 18-day window, distributed by RLJE Films and later by Shudder on March 21, 2023.
